Function of Position:
Monroe Community College is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable individual to serve as a Part-Time Fixed Asset Inventory Clerk. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in conducting a physical inventory of the College's fixed assets. Duties will include locating and verifying assets across MCC's campuses and reconciling this information with College accounting records using various software systems.
No prior experience is required?training will be provided. However, prior inventory or administrative experience is helpful.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Locate and identify Monroe Community College fixed assets (e.g., equipment, furniture, electronics) across all campus buildingsVerify asset details, including MCC tag number, description, physical condition, and locationReconcile physical inventory data with the College's financial records using MCC's asset management and accounting software (Ellucian Banner)Record and update information accurately in inventory tracking systemsCollaborate with campus departments to clarify discrepancies or assist with locating assetsFollow established inventory procedures and College policiesAssist with preparing asset reports as neededPerform other duties as assigned to support the asset management process

Required Qualifications:
Ability to travel between and work within various MCC campus buildings, including climbing stairs and walking long distancesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructionsBasic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft ExcelAbility to work independently and reliably with minimal supervisionGood communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in inventory, accounting, asset management, or administrative supportExperience using inventory tracking software or databasesKnowledge of SUNY or higher education asset management practices
Work Conditions:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various areas across the Brighton and Downtown campusesPosition involves standing, walking, lifting light items (up to 25 lbs), and reachingMay require working in less-frequented spaces such as storage rooms or mechanical areas
Additional Information:
Salary: $16/hr.
Schedule: Part-Time; Flexible hours (up to 21 hours per week)
