Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
Collaborate with Marketing, Merchandising and Sales teams to communicate the Slumberland brand through merchandise layout and presentation.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
Communication/Leadership
New Store Development
Work with Director of Store Design, Project Manager and Franchise Owner to create a Slumberland branded store in a new market.
Create interior and exterior construction plans based on availability of existing plans and/or information gathered from actual location visit.Present plans to Owner in Orientation session set by Project Manager.Communicate with Architect and General Contractor to execute construction plans. Participate in conference calls with owner and Contractor to confirm details.Create merchandise plan based on current master display list and store size/slots.Participate in the store set-up for 1 week implementing merchandise plan and accessorizing the show floor. Training store staff as time permits.
Store Planning
Merchandise Planning:
Staying informed with the merchandise line-ups by weekly monitoring of the master display list and maintaining an updated copy.Coordinate monthly meetings with Strategists to review upcoming changes, master display list, etc.Creating merchandise layout plans for Corporate and Franchise store locations.Design and display consultation as needed for Corporate and Franchise.Monitoring building maintenance and remodeling needs.Attend weekly meetings and organizational calls as needed.Knowledge of internal sale reporting.
Team Collaboration:
Respond to Store Design service tickets as needed and in a timely manner.Schedule Corporate store visits/assessments once annually to each location.Participation and development of Store Design Tactical Plan as well as individual KRA.Collaborate with relevant teams on new display, signage, POP conceptsAllow flexibility to take on new assignments as they surface.
Pay from $54,000-62,000 annually.
Knowledge & Education Requirements:
Advanced working knowledge in CAD and REVIT Design. Focus on architecture, interior design and merchandise layout. Computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other programs as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead meetings and present to large groups. Strong team player with a high degree of self-motivation to work individually. Ability to physically lead and perform merchandise floor moves. Minimum 2 years' experience in retail working Visual Merchandising/Presentation.
Physical Demands/Work Environment/Equipment:
Approximately 45% of position requires travel to Corporate store locations within the Twin City area and the Regional market. Regional travel may require an overnight stay as needed.
